Cranbrook Flower Forest is a 130 acre working nursery which has been open to the public since 1997. Of the 130 acres, 40 have been landscaped in to scenic gardens. In addition to walking through beautiful flower gardens, visitors can hike along a river path, swim in cooling pools, take a zip-line tour through the forest canopy, play croquet and ride donkeys.
Gardens at Cranbrook Flower Forest
At the entrance to Cranbrook Flower Forest is the restored remains of an old sugar mill. The mill is believed to be around 200 years old and now houses a museum and a gift shop. Many tame peacocks live on site and can usually be found flanking the mill building.
Near to the entrance is a pathway lined with royal palms, leading to a pagoda which overlooks the Little River. This tranquil setting is often used as a venue for weddings.
Further on there is a series of landscaped gardens. One of which contains a recreation of a traditional Arawak village, showing the kind of housing the Taino Indians lived in prior to the discovery of Jamaica by the Spanish. There is also a garden with a children’s play area, featuring swings and a see-saw.
The Little River
Beyond the landscaped gardens of Cranbrook Flower Forest is the Little River nature trail. This trail is approximately one and a half miles long, through the forest which surrounds the Little River. The trail is not too taxing but comfortable shoes are recommended. At the end of the trail is the head of the river, which rises from the ground. Along the way are natural pools which you can swim in to cool off.

The Cranbrook Flower Forest is also home to one of Chukka Caribbean Adventures’ zip line tours. There is a trail of nine zip lines through the Cranbrook forest canopy which provide an exciting ride over the flora and fauna of the forest.
